چکیده

Heat transfer of supercritical carbon dioxide cooled in circular tubes was investigated experimentally. The effect of mass flux, pressure, and heat flux on the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop was measured for four horizontal cooling tubes with different inner diameters ranging from 1 to 6 mm. The radial distribution of the thermophysical properties (i.e. specific heat, density, thermal conductivity and viscosity) in the tube cross-section was critical for interpreting the experimental results. A modified Gnielinski equation by selecting the reference temperature properly was then developed to predict the heat transfer coefficient of supercritical carbon dioxide under cooling conditions. This proposed correlation was accurate to within 20% of the experimental data. q 2004 Elsevier Ltd and IIR. All rights reserved.

Experimental Investigation of Local Heat Transfer of Carbon Dioxide at Super-Critical Pressures in a Vertical Tube and Multi-Port Mini-Channels Under Cooling Conditions

A method to obtain the local heat transfer coefficients of carbon dioxide at supercritical pressures in vertical multi-port mini-channels and in a vertical small tube under cooling conditions was presented through the combination of experiments and numerical simulation in this paper. The CFD code FLUENT 6.1 was used to simulate the convection heat transfer of cooling water to determine the loca...

Prediction of Cooling Heat Transfer Coefficient of Supercritical CO2 With Small Amount of Entraned Lubricating Oil Entrained by Neural Network Method

The modeling of the heat transfer performance of supercritical carbon dioxide with a small amount of entrained PAG-type lubricating oil is presented in this paper. Due to the complexity of the heat transfer mechanism, including the complexity of the changes in the thermophysical properties, changes in the solubility of CO2 in oil, and the flow pattern at different temperatures and pressures, a ...

Determination of Heat Transfer Coefficients During In-Tube Gas Cooling of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

The world-wide agreement to restrict the use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrofluorocarbons has prompted recent research exploring the possibilities of replacement refrigerants, particularly those occurring naturally in the environment. One such natural refrigerant, carbon dioxide, has been shown for particular applications to have a COP which is competitive with current refrigerants. How...

Numerical Study on the Heat Transfer of Carbon Dioxide in Horizontal Straight Tubes under Supercritical Pressure

Cooling heat transfer of supercritical CO2 in horizontal straight tubes with wall is numerically investigated by using FLUENT. The results show that almost all models are able to present the trend of heat transfer qualitatively, and the stand k-ε with enhanced wall treatment model shows the best agreement with the experimental data, followed by LB low Re turbulence model. Then further studies a...
